Social media is a crucial part of our brand communication strategy,
complementing our paid performance ads, helping tell potential customers about smol, as well as building engagement, loyalty and advocacy amongst our very loyal customer base. We set a high bar in terms of the quality of our strategy and content - we want to be best in class!
Our Social Media Manager will be solely responsible for planning and posting all organic content and activity across 5 platforms. Sat within the marketing team, you’ll be building our strategy for social media and bringing this to life for maximum impact. The role is a mix of thinking, creating and doing; understanding how the different platforms work, mapping our different audiences and developing a content plan that hits the mark. Our in-house creative team will be instrumental in helping turn ideas into creative. You’ll also take the lead in measuring the impact of our content, and using this to evolve and optimise our plans.
What does the role involve?...
Building a complete organic social media strategy for smol UK, aligned with business objectives and brand messaging, maximising use of each channel and optimised for different audiences.
Creating and owning the daily organic social content plan across all platforms and channels including Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, TikTok and Linkedin, working with our UK Comms Manager to blend specific campaigns with “always on” messaging.
Working with the creative team to plan, brief and execute all social comms, adapted and prioritised to max impact in each channel.
Uploading and scheduling all social media posts, including building content natively in each app (e.g. reels, tiktoks, stories).
Measuring channel and campaign effectiveness, developing a test and learn plan to continue to grow our engagement and following, with monthly reporting and benchmarking.
Work with our performance marketing team to develop and manage an investment strategy for organic.
Reporting on social insights, continually feeding into the wider team and business.
Covering our community managers when needed on occasional days, evening and weekends.
Attending events or activations on evenings or weekends, or posting outside of core hours when needed.
Building strong relationships with other like-minded brands to partner with on social, including active participation in the B Corp community.
Working with smol content managers in Germany and France to share best practice and develop joint campaigns (where relevant).
You will need/be...
Specific experience running and growing social media channels, with proven results and able to demonstrate capabilities in social media strategy, content planning and delivery.
A lover of brands - be really clear on how brand positioning, tone etc impact on social media content.
All over upcoming trends and themes we should be jumping on, understanding constraints and benefits of each platform, constantly adapting our social media strategy for max. impact and ROI. You’ll feel really confident in how the algorithms work, how they are changing and you’ll know how to get the best organic results.
Hands on with using social media analytics and reporting tools to analyse channel and campaign performance, to drive actionable insights and optimisation.
A whizz at building content in-app, and understanding what works best.
A creative eye and experience capturing content for social media.
Happy to put your face on camera, to show the human side of our business, and record voiceovers.
Understand paid / performance marketing and how it optimises with organic.
Work quickly, efficiently, a real “can do” way of working.
Resourceful, and happy managing a budget.
A real team player - you’ll depend on our in-house creative team to help deliver content, our comms team for the broader plan, our community managers for social listening - you need to be comfortable working in a remote team.
