smol is on a mission to change the face of consumer brands and businesses by bringing super effective, eco-friendly products at value for money prices. We believe everyone should be able to make easy swaps that are better for them, the planet, and their pockets.
In just four years smol has taken the household cleaning market by storm. We are already the fastest growing and most positively reviewed brand in the laundry, dishwash, fabric conditioner and surface spray categories and we’ve got so much more planned.
Following recent Series B investment our expansion across geographies and products is set to accelerate further, making it a very exciting time to be joining our energetic and entrepreneurial team.
Social media has been the bedrock of our comms to date. Now we want our social media activity to become “best in class”. Are you up for leading this?
Reporting to the CMO, our Social Media Manager will be solely responsible for all content and activity across 5 platforms. Alongside the CMO and Comms Mgr, this role will be all about building our comms strategy and then specifically bringing this to life in social, implementing and adapting for maximum impact. This role is a real mix of thinking, creating and doing. We have over 250k followers on IG and Facebook, but have been slow to build significant audiences and presence on TT and YouTube. This role is about building on what we have, and taking it to the next level. Our ambition is that during 2023 smol becomes the brand of reference for social media, the brand that others look to for inspiration, demonstrating how a brand can really get the best out of social.
What does the role involve?
Building a complete social media strategy for smol UK, maximising use of each channel and ever changing landscape of social media
Developing our daily organic social media plan across all platforms and channels including Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, Tiktok and Linkedin, working with Comms Mgr to blend specific campaigns with “always on” messaging
Working with the creative team to plan, brief and execute all social comms, adapted and prioritised to max impact in each channel
Uploading and scheduling all social media posts, including building content natively in each app (e.g. reels, tiktoks, stories)
Nurturing our smol community online for each channel, optimising platform specific tools
Reading and reporting on social insights, continually feeding into team
Developing a budgeted boosting strategy to help our posts fly
Developing a test-and-learn plan to continue to grow our engagement and following, with monthly reporting and benchmarking
Managing our in-house community management team (paid and organic), and covering, when needed, on days, evening and weekends
On occasion, attending events or activations on evenings or weekends, or posting outside of core hours
Building strong relationships with other like-minded brands to partner with on social
Building a plan for influencers as part of landing brand messaging and objectives (not from a growth / acquisition POV - we already have an influencer marketing manager!)
